The Larsson family two adults and six children moved into a studio apartment here in October 1906, back when the building was still new. The kitchen was the highlight of the apartment, with a large iron sink, shiny black stove and oven, lots of closet space, and windows out to the back garden. The father was a bricklayer and union leader. One of the daughters would go on to become a well-known author, under the name Herta Wir n. She portrayed life in Möllevången at the turn of the century with a detail and richness that few have matched. Her debut novel A piece of bread with Anna ( En bit bröd med Anna ) centred on her mother. It wasn t published until 1975, when Herta was 75 years old. She would go on to release seven more books.
