Sigrid Vestdahl moved into this building soon after it was built. She was a gifted child and got good grades, but her parents could not afford for her study further. Instead, she worked at Berling's straw hat factory, at the same time becoming involved in the Social Democratic youth movement. It was through her political interests that she met Per Albin Hansson. They got engaged then had a daughter, Anna-Lisa, in the summer of 1908. The priest wrote in the parish book that the daughter was "illegitimate" and that Sigrid and Per Albin "live in a common-law marriage with a financial contract". In 1910, the family moved to Stockholm. They lived together until 1918, when Per Albin married Elisabeth Fryckberg, with whom he had two children. He later divorced Elisabeth, and, in1926, married Sigrid. He was Swedish prime minister between 1932 and 1938. Photograph: Malmö stadsarkiv, Hemmets veckotidning
