The company was actually called AB Damm- och Spånledningar, but no-one around here would ever say that: Dama-Verken was the name that stuck.
The company was actually called AB Damm- och Spånledningar, but no-one around here would ever say that: Dama-Verken was the name that stuck. They started in 1909, and moved to newly built premises on Lantmannagatan in 1936. The office building and the machine hall were on the same site, as well as an air-raid shelter where the staff would park their bikes. And what did they make? Well, fans and ventilation shafts mostly, as well as some other equipment associated with air conditioning and drying. They also made those classic metal lockers made from sheet metal that have graced innumerable workplaces over the years. Photograph: Malmö-boken, 1946
