On the 18 February 1978, American new wave band Blondie played at Dad s Dancehall on Föreningsgatan 54. Fronted by charismatic singer Debbie Harry wearing her trademark thigh-high boots they powered through 24 songs at a furious pace. It was a couple of months before the group really hit the big time with their Parallel Lines album, but they had already become cult favorites. The band stayed at the Hotel Scandinavia on the corner of östra Förstadsgatan and Drottninggatan, and popped into Ahlförs music shop in the same building. Alongside Olle Berggren, a journalist for local newspaper Kvällposten newspaper, they spent some time checking out Farfisa organs.
