On the left of the picture, you can see a protruding pointed roof, just underneath the leafless tree branches. That s the roof of what would later become Auktionskammaren the Auction House. The buildings were originally stables for the horses that pulled the city s trams. When the trams were electrified, the building was repurposed as Söder fire station. It was a fire station from 1911 until 1916, when the police moved in and it was became a shared home for both fire fighters and crime fighters. The house on the right still stands today, although the beautiful balconies have been removed.
