The first thing Sture Lagerwall did when he came to the theatre, was to go into the canteen, pull down his trousers, and lie face down on a table. Nothing happened. Then he got up, buttoned up his trousers, and announced: And this shall be a theatre! In her 2012 book Mitt Malmö Stadsteater from 2012, Kristina Kamnert gleefully tells the story of how her fellow actor Sture Lagerwall introduced himself to new colleagues. As well as being an accomplished actor and film director, Lagerwall was a prot g and lover of legendary stage actor Gösta Ekman Snr.
