The building that's now Nöjesteatern was originally a cinema Amiralen that opened in January 1940. The first film to be shown was called "Kadettkamrater", starring Hasse Ekman among others. The cinema then had 850 seats. In the mid-1960s, it became Malmö Stadsteater s third stage in the city. The New Theater, or Nyan as it was more commonly known, was open from 1965 all the way through to 1988. It's been Nöjesteatern since 1991, and mostly stages musicals and comedies. Foto: Malmö stad
