Rows of cozy arbors sat along the sides of the pond. In the summer, visitors would arrive early to get a prime spot to enjoy some food and drink a light herring lunch perhaps. In a 1902 edition of Lucifer magazine published by Walfrid Wilhelmsson, a veteran of the labour movement the arbors were described as highly sought after, always for the same purpose: picnics . In Bo Widerberg's film Kvarteret Korpen from 1963, there is a famous scene where young Anders (Thommy Berggren) searches for his father (Keve Hjelm), eventually finding him sitting in one of these arbors.
