The mill could have originated in the 16th century, but it has been rebuilt and renovated many times since. A beam has been dated back to around 1700. In any case it is one of Skåne's oldest mills. It is a stump mill. Basically, it is standing on a bearing "stump" so that all of the mill house "bellow" is facing the wind. These mills were succeeded during the 1800s by the so-called Dutchmen, where only the "bonnet" with the wings is turned towards the wind.
