Skanör City Hall
The city hall was finished in 1777.
The city hall was finished in 1777. Not much has changed during the years, but the building has of course been renovated. The roof has been replaced, but with the same kind of beaver-tail bricks as the original. Leonard de la Rose was the mayor from 1752 up until his death in 1784. He was also a member of Parliament, combined Skanör and Falsterbo into one town, had the square set in stone, constituted a post office, amongst other things. This did not make him popular with the people in town. The vast majority wanted to abolish the city rights and get rid of the mayor and all of the work and costs he came with!
