Naima Wifstrand (1890-1968) was one of Sweden's most famous actresses and operetta singers of the 20th century. She came from a humble background in a foster family in Stockholm, but found education opportunities in the acting profession. She performed with Malmö Stadsteater late in her career, in the early 1950s, taking several acclaimed roles with Ingmar Bergman as director (she would go on to feature in a number of his films including Wild Strawberries and The Magician). She lived with the female sculptor and illustrator Ninnan Santesson, including a few years together in London. During her time in Malmö, Naima lived at Helmfeltsgatan 10.
