The grand building in the centre of the photograph was, for many years, the headquarters for Lund municipality.
The grand building in the centre of the photograph was, for many years, the headquarters for Lund municipality. It was built between 1904 and 1906 as a bank for Skånes Enskilda Bank, at a time when many of the big bank palaces in this area were being constructed. The building on the right housed the Lund edition of the newspaper Sydsvenska Dagbladet Snällpostens, that started in 1901. Between 1915 and 1918, Hypoteksföreningen constructed the mountain-like building that you see now.
