Kyrkogtan, opposite the University

The building on the left of the photograph, the Liljewalchska house, got its name from Sewerin Magnus Liljewalch who owned the building from 1791 through to the next century.

The building on the left of the photograph, the Liljewalchska house, got its name from Sewerin Magnus Liljewalch who owned the building from 1791 through to the next century. In a letter to an insurance broker, it was accurately described as a large commercial yard with many rooms, where each building has its own function . When this photograph was taken, the building was plastered, however, the plaster was removed in the 1960s.
