Anne Bugge (1862-1928) and Knut Wicksell met for the first time in Copenhagen, and Anna fell in love instantly. However, Knut was smitten with his best friend s wife Tekla öhrvall. He had confided this to Anna at some point, so when he suggested that they move to Paris together she didn t take him seriously. He travelled alone, but once he arrived he realised what he had left behind, and sent letters and telegrams to Anna, imploring her to join him. Anna explained the situation to Tekla and asked for advice. A week after Knut left, she took the boat to Paris. The settled in Lund, first at 11 Sölvegatan in Allhelgonabacken, before moving to Linero (or Väratunda as it was then called). The love between the two endured for their entire lives. Anna Buge Wicksell was a prominent figure in the peace and women s rights movements in both Norway and Sweden.
