This is where the "new" pharmacy was, where the shopping mall is today, that was taken over by pharmacist Paul G. Nordström in the 1920s. He started his career at the "old" pharmacy (- where else?), close to which he would also found a factory for pharmaceuticals, where some of Sweden's very first pharmaceutical products was manifactured. When Nordström started out producing his own pharmaceutical products in 1904, there was namely no domestic production in Sweden. It's fun to look at marketing from that time, since it differs so much from what we're used to. In the ad for a product called Thiogadol , for example, we are assured that the product "has been tested with excellent results, first and foremost by now deceased Professor Magnus Möller, as well as by another distinguished dermatologist in Stockholm, whose name we unfortunately are not allowed to reveal"... But Nordström knew what he was doing, and his company was so succesful that it was later bought by Astra - which would later become today's global pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca. Nordström also managed a "water factory", where he produced lemonade and mineral water. Apparently, when the army officers at the Logistic Regiment T4 ran out of mixers for their drinks they called Nordström who sent a coworker with fresh supplies.
